Hotel Catering Role

Coast Tsawwassen Inn, a premium all-suite hotel, is seeking a skilled Banquet Server to join their team. Reporting to the Catering & Convention Manager, this role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and upholding the hotel's quality standards in the food and beverage department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an Ambassador for Coast, greeting guests and handling basic enquiries
  • Service hotel catering events and provide customer service through the completion of routine duties and tasks
  • Responsible for the set-up of function rooms as laid out in the detailed Banquet Event Order
  • Responsible for the tear down and clean-up of all function rooms
  • Service the hotel breakfast bar, including set up, maintaining, breakdown and clean up when required
  • Adhere to quality and industry standards when completing tasks
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels to support the operation throughout the day
  • Prepare, stock, and set up/put out food and beverages
  • Maintain function and meeting rooms, breakfast area, common areas by vacuuming, removing trash, clearing, cleaning and sanitizing table, kitchen surfaces, storage areas, equipment, staff room
  • Check on guest satisfaction and follow up on requests where possible and appropriate
  • Demonstrate a customer service attitude with internal and external contacts
  • Ensure the safety and security of the property, the Ambassadors and guests when completing tasks

Requirements

  • Serving it Right certificate is required
  • Hepatitis A vaccination is mandatory
  • Previous banquet experience is an asset

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position, including lifting up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
