About the Role
True North Labour Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Safety Officer to join our team. As a Construction Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our workers and the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks
- Review and verify subcontractor safety plans to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
- Establish and maintain safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Supervise and monitor the safety performance of all workers on site
- Respond to employee safety concerns and provide guidance on safety protocols
- Collaborate with state and local agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Receive and review reports from Department of Labor inspectors
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
- Must be safety conscious and have a strong commitment to ensuring a safe working environment
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
