We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bottle Depot Operations Manager to join our team at Parksville Bottle & Recycling Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operational logistics of the organization, including developing specific plans to prioritize tasks, organizing tasks to accomplish the work, and ensuring smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery.

The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of experience in a related field, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. They will be responsible for coordinating activities with other work units or departments, preparing and submitting reports, and arranging for maintenance and repair work.

This is a permanent position with a 35-40 hour workweek. The work language is English, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work
  • Oversee operational logistics of the organization
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair work
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Train workers in duties and policies
  • Co-ordinate, assign and review work
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
  • Organize and maintain inventory
