Job Title: Boiler Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Boiler Inspector to join our team at the Manitoba Government. As a Boiler Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements specified under various Acts and supporting codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Interpret and apply Acts, regulations, codes, and standards governing the safe installation and operation of boilers and pressure vessels
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively
  • Write inspection and investigation reports
  • Exercise judgment and identify solutions to problems
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities with tight deadlines
Requirements:
  • 2nd Class Power Engineer in the Province of Manitoba or 3rd Class Power Engineer working towards their 2nd Class with additional training and experience
  • Experience in operation, installation, service, maintenance, and/or inspection of boilers and pressure vessels
  • Knowledge of procedures for conducting inspections and/or investigation techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications or equivalent software programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified as an "AI" or "IS" Commission with "B" or "R" endorsements by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBB)
  • Certified as a commercial and industrial gas fitter in the Province of Manitoba
