Job Title: Boiler Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Boiler Inspector to join our team at the Manitoba Government. As a Boiler Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements specified under various Acts and supporting codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with Acts and codes
  • Exercise authority to enforce compliance with regulations
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster effective working relationships
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Acts, regulations, codes, and standards governing boiler and pressure vessel safety
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders
Requirements:
  • 2nd Class Power Engineer in the Province of Manitoba or equivalent
  • Experience in operation, installation, service, maintenance, and/or inspection of boilers and pressure vessels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified as an "AI" or "IS" Commission with "B" or "R" endorsements by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBB)
  • Certified as a commercial and industrial gas fitter in the Province of Manitoba
