Tower Crane Operator Job Description

The Tower Crane Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tower crane to lift, move, position, and place various equipment, materials, pre-fabricated forms, tables, and other large objects. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work at heights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a tower crane to lift, move, position, and place equipment and materials
  • Conduct daily machine safety inspections and routine crane maintenance
  • Assess and calculate the capacities and weight to prepare rigging and hoisting
  • Work extended hours, including weekends, as required
  • Comply with all WorkSafe (WCB) procedures and safety practices
Requirements:
  • Valid British Columbia Level A crane certificate (B ticket considered)
  • Commercial &/or Infrastructure construction experience/formwork considered an asset
  • Ability to independently conduct daily crane inspections
  • Perform routine and pre-operational crane maintenance
  • Ability to work at heights and in a fast-paced environment
