Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at the Vancouver Regional Clinic, BC Mental Health. As a Forensic Community & Liaison Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, including mental status examinations and physical health evaluations, to inform treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement Integrated Treatment Plans (ITPs) based on clinical risk and need, ensuring collaboration with the Regional Clinic Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Provide community case coordination and advocacy services, including communication with mental health teams, private psychiatrists, and social service agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and concise documentation of client information, adhering to FPSC policy standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide nursing services, information, and support, including counseling and therapeutic support, medication management, and education on mental illness.
  • Facilitate access to psychiatric and social services, including referrals, community resource navigation, and home visits.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two (2) years recent, related experience working with individuals in the community with severe and persistent psychiatric illness.
  • Valid BC Drivers License.
