We are seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Azure Data Developer to join our Technology team at Equitable CA. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of data hub solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Synapse data pipelines and modernize existing SQL Server on-prem data sources to ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
  • Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Optimize and tune data workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from various sources into Azure Synapse.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data models, schemas, and metadata.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure Synapse features and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Pyspark, Python, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, including Azure SQL Data Warehouse and Azure Data Lake Storage.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and database design principles, with expertise in SQL Server ANSI-SQL and T-SQL.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and tools.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining interactive reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools, such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
  • Certifications in AZ-900, DP-900, AZ-400 or DP-203 are an asset.
  • Java, Python, PySpark, PowerShell, C#/.NET, Bash.
  • Experience in agile methodologies and DevOps tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
