Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power HVAC Mechanic to join our team at United Rentals. As a Power HVAC Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, gas, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, gas, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
  • Diagnose and repair all equipment in the rental fleet without supervision utilizing schematics and diagnostic programs
  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
  • Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
  • Ability to trouble shoot and "field repair" a broad range of equipment including air conditioners; 10 to 50 tons, air cooled chillers, diesel engines; 35 to 2200 hp, pump ends; centrifugal, hydraulic and electric, desiccant dehumidifiers; 500 to 1,500 cfm and electrical distribution equipment
  • Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems
  • Extensive knowledge of equipment
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Ability to lead others
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
