Job Summary

The Senior Procurement Agent is a pivotal role at Hydro Ottawa, responsible for procuring materials, capital equipment, and services that meet the company's standards, within specified timeframes and at the most favorable prices. This position requires a high level of expertise in procurement, contract administration, and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and engage with potential suppliers to meet Hydro Ottawa's procurement needs.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and recommend the most suitable acquisition method.
  • Review and update procurement specifications to ensure compliance with standards and accuracy.
  • Develop and issue RFX requests, including contractual terms and conditions, evaluation criteria, and other relevant documentation.
  • Manage the evaluation and selection of suppliers, ensuring fair and comprehensive assessment.
  • Negotiate contracts and generate purchase orders, ensuring compliance with Hydro Ottawa's procurement policy.
  • Maintain a database of contracts, ensuring renewals, cancellations, and expirations are processed and communicated to clients.
  • Administer open orders, ensuring milestones are met and changes are incorporated.
  • Liaise with end-users and suppliers to resolve changes and technical issues.
  • Prepare detailed written communications and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and update procurement RFX templates.
  • Debrief unsuccessful proponents, if requested.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, preferably Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement or contract administration.
  • Supply Chain Management Association certification as a Certified Supply Chain Management Professional is considered an asset.
