About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services that support our manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement of materials and supplies: Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and equipment needed for manufacturing processes.
  • Inventory management: Coordinate with production teams to determine procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of products and materials.
  • Supplier relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, communicate with vendors to resolve any issues or discrepancies, and ensure suppliers comply with company standards for safety and quality.
  • Cost optimization: Analyze and document comparative quote proposal results in advance of order placement and work with the Purchasing Team in relation to cost avoidance, cost reduction, and order efficiencies.
  • Documentation and reporting: Prepare and review purchase orders for accuracy and update Purchasing System to maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and deliveries.
  • Quality control: Coordinate with quality control teams to ensure purchased materials meet specifications and assist in managing non-conformance reporting for logistics.
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement processes adhere to company policies and procedures and help maintain compliance with relevant standards.
  • Systems and software: Use of procurement software, ERP systems, and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools to input data and manage information in company systems.
  • Continuous improvement: Participate in meetings to discuss product selection and procurement strategies and contribute to improvements in Supply Chain.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience with a background in purchasing, sales, materials inventory management, or buying.
  • Project Management Association of Canada (PMAC) certification is a strong asset.
  • Supply Chain Management certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the print industry and facility management is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, and fluency in French is an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret Level II personal security clearance.
