Job Overview

About the Role

As an Animal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to animals in our clinic. This includes conducting physical examinations, diagnosing diseases, and treating sick or injured animals. You will also be required to advise clients on animal care and health, as well as provide routine and emergency veterinary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions in animals through physical examinations and laboratory tests
  • Provide vaccinations and preventive care to promote animal health
  • Advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals
  • Conduct routine and emergency examinations, including post-mortem examinations
  • Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers
Requirements
  • Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
  • Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Certification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and reliability
  • Experience in veterinary care (1-7 months)
