The salary for this position is estimated at $42.98/hour, which may increase to $46.23/hour if fully qualified, $47.73/hour afternoons, and $48.23/hour nights. A signing bonus of $10,000 is also included.

About the Role

This position requires you to perform major and minor repairs, overhauls and servicing on all types of vehicles, vehicle attachments and material handling equipment. You will be working with Intermodal cranes, terminal tractors, vehicles and equipment, inspecting, servicing and maintaining them in accordance with federal and company regulations.

  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Detect and repair engine, electrical, hydraulic, driveline malfunctions
  • Operate welding equipment, lubrication equipment and other vehicle repair tools
  • Prepare inspection, maintenance and work reports

You will be required to work irregular shifts, including evenings, midnights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. You must be able to work in a shop environment, both inside and outside, in all weather conditions.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A Diploma of Vocational Studies in Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Experience as a diesel mechanic, automotive, truck & coach, hydraulics technician
  • A valid driver's license
  • Technical knowledge of diesel mechanics
  • Qualified 310T/421A mechanics certification
