Job Title: Merchandise Processing Team Member

Talize is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Merchandise Processing Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our retail warehouse team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our merchandise is processed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality inspections on received merchandise to ensure it meets our company standards.
  • Properly dispose of unsellable merchandise.
  • Sort items into appropriate bins for re-routing.
  • Ensure department bins are clearly marked with accurate vendor codes.
  • Hang approved garments on the correct hanger and place them on designated lines.
  • Grade items according to established guidelines to determine price.
  • Attach and affix price tags to items.
  • Organize tagged items on rolling racks based on category, size, and color charts.
Health and Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and organized merchandise processing area in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
  • Take precautionary measures to prevent external and internal theft.
  • Identify and remove hazards, reporting them to management and the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Report employee or customer accidents to management immediately.
  • Wear proper PPE while performing tasks.
  • Practice safe lifting and handling of merchandise.
Other Duties:
  • Roll racks onto the retail floor to replenish stock and provide customer service.
  • Assist in ragging out color tags to make space for new stock.
  • Participate in floor changes, back-stock programs, and assist management with sale days.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as requested by management.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience working in a retail warehouse environment.
  • Previous work in a thrift retail environment is considered an asset.

  • Merchandise Knowledge: Ability to identify brands to effectively grade merchandise.

  • Collaboration: Work well independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Constant bending, reaching, and using hands for repetitive actions.
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 50lbs without assistance throughout the shift.
  • Pushing and pulling merchandise containers on wheels weighing up to 500lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to dust throughout the designated shift.
  • Exposure to periodic temperature fluctuations and noise levels.
  • Work schedule hours will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Interaction with customers, clients, and the public at large.
