We are seeking a highly skilled Operational Excellence Manager to join our team at Marler & Associates Search. This role will be responsible for overseeing the safe operation of our manufacturing facility, ensuring timely and efficient production, and maintaining high-quality products.
About the Role:
- Responsibilities:
- Assure Efficient Operation of Departments: Oversee the efficient operation of all departments under your responsibility, including sewing, cutting, maintenance, shipping, and receiving, and CAD.
- Supervise Production Staff: Supervise and schedule work for all production staff via the Production Supervisor and Line Leaders, ensuring a balanced flow of work from department to department.
- Identify Workflow Problems: Identify and deal with workflow problems, liaising with the Production Supervisor and Line Leaders to correct difficulties arising on the floor.
- Improve Production Process: Identify areas for improvement in production and product development processing, monitor machine usage and maintenance status, and maintain production levels to realize sales forecast within budget requirements.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Liaise and coordinate with other departments to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Education: 4-year degree in a related discipline.
- Experience: 8 years' experience in an operations management position within a manufacturing environment.
- Certification: Lean certification desired.
- Skills:
- Cost Analysis: Clear understanding of cost of goods sold, profit/loss, and balance sheet relationships.
- Analytical Skills: Well-developed analytical and reasoning skills.
- Leadership Skills: Proven supervisory, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate production staff.
- Communication Skills: Superior oral communication skills; must be able to work with all levels of staff.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills.
Benefits:
- Salary: The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Work Environment: Normal office work environment with the freedom to stand, sit, walk, and stretch as necessary.
- Travel Requirements: Some travel may be required.
Direct Supervision:
- Manage Direct Reports: Directs various work units through subordinates, manages direct reports, sets and monitors standards of performance, and establishes general production policies and procedures.
- Provide Guidance: Provides advice and guidance to directly supervised employees and performs performance appraisals.
- Hiring and Termination: Oversees hiring, disciplining, and terminating directly supervised employees and may also participate for indirectly supervised employees.
