Cultural and Traditional Practices Coordinator

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is seeking a skilled Cultural and Traditional Practices Coordinator to join their team.
The successful candidate will assist the Elder/Cultural Advisors in conducting and preparing for spiritual ceremonies, support traditional knowledge and skills, and assist in the delivery of health care services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the planning and organizing of cultural events and activities;
- Maintaining cultural equipment and supplies;
- Providing transportation and support to Elder/Cultural Advisors;
- Working closely with the Treatment Team to provide support and awareness;
- Acting as an interpreter between English and Cree speaking clients and health care providers;
- Engaging with Treatment centre families and community members in basic life skills from a traditional perspective.
Requirements include:
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent;
- 1-2 years' relevant experience in Cultural and Traditional Practices;
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with Woodland Cree Culture and Traditions;
- Ability to speak/understand the Cree Language is a strong asset;
- Valid WHMIS and First Aid/CPR Certification;
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and own a reliable vehicle;
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Driver Abstract.
