The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is seeking a qualified individual to fill a Permanent Full-Time position based out of La Ronge, SK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Elder/Cultural Advisors in conducting and preparing for spiritual ceremonies, supporting traditional knowledge and skills to participants, and assisting treatment staff in delivering health care services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the planning and organizing of cultural events, such as cultural camps, canoe trips, and traditional outings.
- Maintaining cultural equipment and supplies.
- Providing transportation and support to Elder/Cultural Advisors.
- Working closely with the Treatment Team to provide support and awareness.
- Acting as an interpreter between English and Cree speaking clients and health care providers.
Requirements include:
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1-2 years' relevant experience in Cultural and Traditional Practices.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with Woodland Cree Culture and Traditions.
- Valid WHMIS and First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Ability to speak/understand the Cree Language.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and own a reliable vehicle.
