Job Title: Automation Specialist

Join C.O.R.E. Services as an Automation Specialist and play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our plant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our automation systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot critical plant servers in collaboration with our IT support team.
  • Provide technical support for various automation equipment, including PLCs, scale indicators, sensors, and meters.
  • Identify and resolve issues with supervisory and S.C.A.D.A/HMI systems, recipe systems, tracking systems, and data collection systems.
  • Integrate new automation equipment and systems into our current production environment, including PLCs, PLC code, supervisory and S.C.A.D.A/HMI systems, and interfacing with database systems.
  • Support the plant during normal operations and planned shutdowns as required.
  • Document existing and new automation systems to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Stay up-to-date on all critical automation systems to diagnose system failures effectively.
  • Program, implement, and maintain automation systems using various languages, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data and reports for production, QA, and other departments.
  • Keep current on new computer technology and production processes, applying them to improve existing systems.
  • Collaborate with users and system administrators during installation phases and provide training as needed.
  • Train employees, such as electricians, on automation systems, including PLCs, sensors, and other automation devices.
  • Review software and hardware problems with operators and other users, providing ongoing technical assistance regarding automation systems.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or an associated degree that can obtain a P.Eng preferred, or a Technology technical degree from an accredited college or better.
  • Programming and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with GE Cimplicity and WinCC from Siemens.
  • Knowledge in networking, IT infrastructure, servers, and computer hardware.
  • Skills in programming languages such as C++, C#, scripting, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and T-SQL language.
  • English and French (oral and written) preferred.
  • Availability for overtime and weekends as needed.
