Bakery Department Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bakery Department Manager to join our team at Sunterra Market. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and motivating our Bakery Team Members to achieve exceptional results in productivity, engagement, and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Bakery Department to achieve sales growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance team member skills and knowledge.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, manage ordering and budgeting, and analyze sales data to inform business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and promote a positive company image.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
- Manage and develop team members, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance assessments to drive growth and improvement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in commercial bakery or kitchen production management.
- Proven track record of leadership, coaching, and team development.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data, manage inventory, and control costs.
- WHIMS and Food Safety certification (Sunterra will provide online training).
Working Conditions:
- Standing and/or walking for extended periods.
- Exposure to temperature variations and wet conditions.
- May walk and work on uneven surfaces.
- Working around hot surfaces (grills, stoves, ovens, etc.).
- Requires some reaching above and below shoulder height.
- Repetitive use of hands with power grasping and fine manipulation.
- Repetitive stretching and lifting required.
- Lifting of items up to 40 pounds (over 40 requires a team lift).
