About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency;
  • Troubleshoot heating and ventilation systems to identify and resolve issues;
  • Interpret blueprints and technical instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation;
  • Measure and lay out reference points for installation;
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for customers;
  • Coach and instruct apprentices in refrigeration techniques;
  • Handle, recover, and store refrigerants safely and efficiently;
  • Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration systems;
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as recharging systems with refrigerant and checking regulators;
Requirements
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification;
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate;
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate;
  • Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate;
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate;
  • First Aid Certificate;
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate;
  • Criminal record check;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Vehicle supplied by employer;
  • Punctuality, accurate, client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, reliability, and team player skills;
  • 5 years or more experience in refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics;
  • On-site customer service experience;
  • Noisy, hot, cold/refrigerated work site environment;
Working Conditions

This position involves working in a physically demanding environment, with frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity required. The successful candidate must be able to lift heavy objects and work at heights.

You will also be required to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, and gloves.
