We are seeking an enthusiastic Child Development Specialist to join our team at Closing the Gap Healthcare. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for working with children and can provide care within our School-Based Rehabilitation Services.

Role Overview

In this position, you will be responsible for delivering care to children with rehabilitation needs in our School-based Rehabilitation Program. You must be able to work in a dynamic environment while facilitating relationships between families, schools, and the local healthcare systems.

  • Deliver care to children with rehabilitation needs in our School-based Rehabilitation Program
  • Work collaboratively to provide patient care both virtually and in-person visits
  • Provide services involving short-term consultation, training, and intervention for specific rehabilitation needs
  • Assess and treat pediatric clients with various needs, including speech sound delays and disorders, motor speech challenges, stuttering, and voice disorders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies applicable to practice
  • Knowledge of principles of reflective practice
  • The ability to use a systematic approach to decision-making during the development, implementation, and evaluation of clients
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Current registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
  • A current valid G2/G driving license and access to a reliable insured vehicle

Salary Estimate

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 per year, based on location and experience.
