Child Welfare Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Welfare Specialist to join our team at Kenora-Rainy River Districts Child and Family Services.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing a broad range of child welfare services, including intake, assessment, and clinical intervention with children and their families. This includes conducting investigations, providing emergency services, making applications to the court, and ensuring the needs of children living in their own homes or in care are met.
Responsibilities- Provide child welfare services, including intake, assessment, and clinical intervention with children and their families.
- Conduct investigations and provide emergency services as required.
- Make applications to the court and ensure the needs of children are met.
- Work collaboratively with other staff, agencies, and professionals to provide advocacy for services to children and their families.
- Awareness of Indigenous issues is an asset.
- Possess an S.S.W. Diploma, B.S.W., or M.S.W. degree (Applicants with similar academic qualifications and related experience may be considered).
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $1000 000.00 Liability.
- Clear criminal reference check, Clear Vulnerable Sector check, Clear Internal Records Check, and a Clean Driver's Abstract.
Kenora-Rainy River Districts Child and Family Services is a non-profit community organization funded by the Government of Ontario, legally mandated to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect through the Child and Family Services Act.
