Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of plant equipment at Holcim. This position will be responsible for coordinating and supervising mechanical or electrical maintenance activities to achieve the highest level of quality, safety, and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health, Safety, and Environment:
    • Ensure compliance with company rules and regulations, as well as legal requirements, and support the development of safety standards for the area.
    • Monitor and control leakages, and adhere to environmental regulations.
  • Maintenance Operations:
    • Supervise the execution of daily/weekly preventive and corrective maintenance tasks assigned to the team.
    • Recommend technical improvements for cost reductions and equipment maintainability and reliability.
    • Administer the work order system by generating notifications, closing work orders, and recording data and trends.
    • Ensure the quality of maintenance work performed by mechanics and electricians in the field.
    • Ensure proper storage of lubricants and cleanliness of the warehouse and maintenance shop, and manage inventory levels.
    • Optimize efficiency of completed work orders and balance workload for each week of the year.
    • Participate in weekly planning meetings and major shutdown meetings to coordinate jobs with other departments.
    • Respond promptly to repair requests.
    • Guarantee correct and on-time execution of work, interpret results, and generate actions based on inspection.
    • Report any abnormalities in weekly meetings.
    • Monitor job duration, cost, and performance of crew and subcontractors working under their responsibility.
  • Planning & Cost Control:
    • Collaborate with the planning team to develop and optimize job planning.
    • Follow and report Maintenance Planning KPIs, maintenance cost compared to budget, third-party service cost analysis, unplanned downtime, and work order efficiency.
    • Assist in preparing the annual maintenance budget.
    • Provide feedback to the planning team on availability of their team.
  • People Management:
    • Establish training programs for personnel and schedule supplier training based on the Frame Contract.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Coordinate meetings with suppliers to explore new developments or techniques to optimize workload and equipment.
    • Assist in the mechanical design and execution of plant projects.
  • Qualifications:
    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
    • 5 years of maintenance experience in cement or similar heavy industry.
    • Previous supervisory experience in a union environment.
    • Knowledge of cement production process.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Knowledge of CIF (Cement Industrial Framework), MAC (Maintenance Cement), HAC (Holcim Asset Code System), CbM (Computer-based Monitoring), Project Management Approach (PMA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Cost Basics preferred, FMEA Concept.
    • MEDP Certification preferred.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and propose improvement actions.
    • Valid driver's license.
