About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee and coordinate mechanical or electrical maintenance activities to achieve the highest level of quality, safety, and effectiveness, ensuring optimal equipment availability at the lowest sustainable maintenance cost, in compliance with OH&S and environmental regulations, following the maintenance guidelines of the Cement Industrial Framework (iCIF) and Maintenance Management System (MAC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the execution of daily/weekly preventive and corrective maintenance tasks assigned to the team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Recommend technical improvements for cost reductions and equipment maintainability and reliability, collaborating with the planning team to optimize job planning.
  • Administrate the work order system, generating notifications, closing work orders, and recording data and trends, ensuring timely response to repair requests.
  • Assure the quality of maintenance work, interpreting results, and generating actions based on inspection, reporting any abnormalities in weekly meetings.
  • Monitor job duration, cost, and performance of crew and subcontractors, participating in weekly planning meetings and major shut-down meetings to coordinate jobs with other departments.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to develop and optimize job planning, following and reporting Maintenance Planning KPIs, maintenance cost compared to budget, third-party service cost analysis, unplanned downtime, and work order efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing the annual maintenance budget, following up and providing feedback to the planning team about availability of the team.
  • Establish training programs for personnel, scheduling available supplier training based on Frame Contract, and coordinating meetings with suppliers to check new/innovative developments or new techniques available to optimize workload and equipment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5 years of maintenance experience in cement or similar heavy industry, with previous supervisory experience in a union environment.
  • Knowledge of cement production process, CIF (Cement Industrial Framework), MAC (Maintenance Cement), HAC (Holcim Asset Code System), CbM (Computer-based Monitoring), Project Management Approach (PMA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Cost Basics preferred, FMEA Concept, and MEDP Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work self-directed, adjust to changing priorities, and propose improvement actions, with a valid driver's license.
