About the Role:

The Fort McKay First Nation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Director to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will play a vital role in shaping and implementing our education programs to meet the needs of our students. Your expertise and passion for education will be instrumental in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment that fosters the well-being and success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective teaching practices in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
  • Design and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our diverse student population.
  • Conduct training workshops to ensure teachers are equipped to deliver high-quality education.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to ensure students meet educational goals.
  • Ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes well-being and respectful behavior.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and community members.
  • Stay up-to-date with education policies, laws, and regulations.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • 5-7 years of senior administrative experience in education.
  • Post-graduate degree an asset.
  • Criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
  • Ability to work in a First Nations community and understand First Nations culture, traditions, and values.
