We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Adjuster to join our team at McLarens Global. As a General Adjuster, you will be responsible for managing the resolution of first and third-party claim exposures from both a coverage and loss establishment perspective.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive and review claim intake daily, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Investigate causes, circumstances, and extent of losses, and communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, and other stakeholders.
- Review policy coverage and recommend resolutions, consulting with insurers and experts as needed.
- Prepare scope of damage, loss measure, and costs schedule, and coordinate cost agreements with insured and claimant.
- Bring matters to a timely and equitable resolution in accordance with coverage and liability findings.
- 3-5 years of commercial property and Commercial General Liability claims experience.
- Post-secondary degree (College or University)
- Appropriate Provincial adjuster license(s)
- Regional claims experience
- Experience handling complex commercial losses preferred
- Established Broker/Carrier relationships
- Knowledge of the independent claims adjusting business, including familiarity with local jurisdictional requirements and claim practices
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize
As a General Adjuster, you will be required to travel to inspection sites, work in outdoor weather conditions, and maintain a high level of physical fitness. You will also be expected to work in a collaborative and responsive fashion with varying levels of supervision resolving complex exposures.
