Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy
We are currently seeking a Casual Transfer Station Attendant for our Moberly Lake domestic garbage transfer sites. In this role, you will provide excellent customer service to individuals dropping off garbage and recycling.
A Day in the Life
As a Transfer Station Attendant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional public relations at all times
- Opening and closing access gates according to the Hours of Operation, ensuring all gates are properly secured outside of working hours
- Conducting routine inspections of perimeter fences to identify any unauthorized entry, damage, or other issues
- Disposing of unauthorized materials dumped at the entrance gate or other locations, including materials dumped outside of working hours
- Directing traffic flow at the Transfer Stations, prioritizing public safety and adhering to the traffic management plan
- Supervising the placement of waste into containers and the compactor system, as necessary
- Removing non-compliant materials from deposited loads
- Preventing scavenging of waste, recyclables, or product stewardship materials by facility users
- Maintaining all buildings on site, including the yard, in a clean condition, which may involve collecting and disposing of fugitive waste material and litter, as well as winter maintenance such as shoveling snow and sweeping around buildings
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- 1-2 years of General Laborer experience
- Competence in completing daily documents
- A good understanding of regional Occupational Health and Safety requirements and the ability to operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently
- A strong work ethic and willingness to work in challenging weather conditions and environments
