Your Opportunity

We are seeking a casual material handler for our Moberly Lake domestic garbage transfer sites. In this role, you will be responsible for providing customer service and handling waste materials.

A Day in the Life

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Providing excellent public relations at all times
• Opening and closing access gates at the transfer station according to hours of operation
• Conducting routine inspections of perimeter fences for unauthorized entry or damage
• Disposing of unauthorized materials dumped at entrance gates or other locations
• Directing traffic flow at transfer stations while ensuring public safety
• Supervising waste placement into containers and compactors
• Removing non-compliant materials from deposited loads
• Preventing scavenging of waste, recyclables, or product stewardship materials by facility users
• Maintaining buildings and grounds in a clean condition

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 1-2 years of general laborer experience
• Ability to complete documents on a daily basis
• Knowledge of regional occupational health and safety requirements
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in challenging weather conditions

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
