Job Title: Montessori Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Teacher to join our team at Atlantic Montessori School, Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment that fosters the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Montessori principles and methods, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Assess the children's development and prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate.
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification.
  • 5 years or more of experience in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
