Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Five-Axis CNC Machinist to join our team at Ben Machine Products. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines, setting up and loading/unloading parts, and ensuring the highest level of quality and precision in your work.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision parts.
  • Tooling and Fixtures: Use appropriate tools, fixtures, and indicators to set up the machine and ensure accurate part production.
  • Program Management: Load, unload, change, and modify programs as required to meet production demands.
  • Tool Maintenance: Change and set cutting tools, modify and grind tools as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Quality Control: Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance and meet quality standards.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints to understand part specifications and production requirements.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing: Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles to ensure accurate part production.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years' experience in CNC machining, with a strong background in 5-axis CNC vertical milling.
  • Certification: A certificate of qualification, college degree, or other relevant training in CNC machining is an asset.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Fanuc or Haas CNC systems and Mastercam software is preferred.
  • Aerospace Experience: Previous experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
  • Jobbing Shop Experience: Previous experience in a jobbing shop environment is also preferred.
