Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to patients and families in a medical surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment programs to promote patient independence and functional ability.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC).
- Two (2) years of recent related experience, including one (1) year in pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- 50 hours of post-graduate coursework or training related to additional procedures, techniques, and job functions for assigned area.

- Commitment to developing knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in foundational documents, including Truth & Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan, and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study.
