Job Title: Family Enhancement Worker

Job Summary:

The Family Enhancement Worker will provide support services to children and families to prevent them from entering the child and family services protection system. This will be achieved by providing preventative service opportunities, resources, and education to families, as well as facilitating awareness and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement case plans to address family needs
  • Coordinate resources and supports for families
  • Provide education and awareness to families on child and family services
  • Facilitate advocacy and counseling for families
  • Work with community partners to identify problems and provide solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Social Work Degree (BSW) with experience in child welfare preferred
  • Commitment to community-based service delivery
  • Knowledge of CFS legislation, issues, and standards
  • Assessment, interviewing, and counseling skills
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of First Nations culture and values

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment
  • Confidentiality environment with access to sensitive information
  • Overnight and remote travel approximately 5% of the time
  • Maintain a satisfactory Prior Contact check, Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Record Check, and Driver's Abstract throughout employment
