Job Summary:
We are seeking a Power Generation and Transmission Expert to join our team in Calgary or Fort McMurray, Alberta. This role involves providing technical support to Suncor's Oilsands Operations to ensure compliance with Independent System Operator (ISO) Rules and Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS). The successful candidate will have experience in a compliance role involving AESO, MSA, AUC, and/or NERC, as well as strong knowledge of high voltage electrical systems and protection related rules and standards.

Main Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this role include ensuring Suncor remains compliant with ARS Operations and Planning (O&P) requirements and transmission related ISO rules by maintaining accurate and organized evidence. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and tracking new ARS and ISO Rule requirements, preparing self-reports to MSA, and developing mitigation plans to prevent future events. Additionally, the candidate will need to lead AESO Behind the Fence Projects in support of Major Projects and provide oversight of specialized power system studies consultants.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in electrical engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA, or equivalent experience/training. You should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the electricity/utility industry, including experience with high voltage electrical systems and protection related rules and standards. Strong project management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and written and oral communication skills are also essential for this role.
