About the Role

The Server position at Retirement Concepts and West Coast Seniors Housing Management is a vital part of our community's dining experience. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and the public. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will ensure that every meal is a memorable one.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dining room for all services, including setting tables, stocking necessary items, and assisting with food preparation and presentation.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties in the dining room, including clearing and bussing tables, and washing dishes while following infection control guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain a welcoming atmosphere in the dining room, promoting the happiness, self-respect, and physical safety of each resident.
  • Promote positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and the public.
  • Assist with housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
  • Attend and participate in community and education programs.
  • Respond to resident and building emergencies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a dining room environment is an asset.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
  • Serving It Right Certificate (as applicable).
  • WHMIS Certificate.
  • Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate related food service equipment.
  • Must be in good health, physically able to operate food service equipment, and free from communicable diseases and allergies.
