Teaching Psychologist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced teaching psychologist to join our department at Vancouver Island University. As a teaching psychologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate education in psychology, with a focus on innovative teaching methods and student success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach introductory psychology courses, including PSYC 112 Contemporary Psychology II
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching strategies to promote student learning and success
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and course materials
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees and initiatives
Requirements:
  • PhD in psychology from an APA or CPA accredited institution
  • Recent experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Experience using a common learning management system, such as Desire2Learn, Blackboard, or Moodle
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology relevant to the position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in teaching small classes in an inclusive learning environment
