Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Care Coordinator to join our team in providing advocacy and support services to adult clients receiving care or support services. As a key member of our Protection for Persons in Care unit, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide independent review of reports of alleged abuse, manage intake phone lines, and analyze information gathered by contracted investigators. You will administer the Protection for Persons in Care Act through your expertise and clinical nursing experience, applying your exceptional comprehension and critical analysis skills to provide written advice on investigation findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-biased, independent reviews of reports of alleged abuse
  • Manage intake phone lines and respond to inquiries from service providers and clients
  • Analyze information gathered by contracted investigators and provide written advice on investigation findings
  • Administer the Protection for Persons in Care Act through your expertise and clinical nursing experience
  • Collaborate with the Director to make decisions on investigation outcomes and approve investigator recommendations
Requirements
  • A university degree or diploma in nursing
  • Experience within the health sector, particularly with persons with developmental disabilities, supportive living, or adult support/service settings
  • At least 1 year of related nursing experience
  • Regulated membership in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta, College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta, or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with administrative law and quasi-judicial processes
Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a salary range of $80,291 - $102,143 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
