Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Youth Outreach Activity Coordinator. This role will involve coordinating and facilitating Intergenerational events in communities across BC/Yukon, developing engaging STEM lessons linked to BC Education curriculum, and promoting program activities through various platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members to organize and facilitate Intergenerational events
  • Develop and implement STEM lessons for K-12 classrooms across BC/Yukon
  • Coordinate with team members to purchase classroom/event supplies as required
  • Support the development of a network within the STEM community
  • Promote program activities through various platforms
  • Support team in collecting and maintaining metrics and data for program reporting
  • Collaborate with team members to create and present volunteer opportunities
  • Seasonally co-organize and co-facilitate Youth Camps
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
Requirements
  • High school graduation and minimum two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Teachers Certification or equivalent education and experience preferred
  • Experience with youth is an asset
  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record check
  • Full COVID vaccination required
  • Driver's license and own transportation required
Performance Competencies and Criteria
  • Ability to teach in a fast-paced environment with support of teachers/school staff
  • Physically able to care for children of all ages and abilities
  • Adaptability and flexibility in task execution
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail in written and verbal communication
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Understanding of BC Educational programming is an asset
