Your Role:

The position of Registered Nurse within the Alberta Kidney Care North Home Peritoneal Dialysis team involves assessing new patients, planning, educating, and providing follow-up care for home dialysis patients. You will develop, implement, and maintain a program focused on teaching patients with chronic renal failure to perform dialysis replacement therapy at home, including home peritoneal dialysis.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
  • Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
  • Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider.
  • Skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community.
