Nurse Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Bed Coordinator/Bed Planner plays a critical role in the coordination of patient placements on site, working collaboratively with the inter-professional team to ensure seamless transitions and optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the movement of patients through specific programs, ensuring timely and efficient placement.
- Communicate effectively with the inter-professional team regarding clinical status and patient needs.
- Manage access and daily census of defined program-specific beds, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Provide a wide range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
- Utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to determine patient placement and ensure quality care.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- A minimum of five years acute care nursing experience, with experience in Medicine and Surgery programs.
- Effective time management, prioritization, conflict resolution, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, with a focus on problem-solving and critical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Charge Nurse experience.
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, EPIC, and e-People.
