Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, identifying potential health risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and monitoring patient responses.
  • Document patient information, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Current certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
