Job Overview

The Packaging Development Chemist is responsible for lab activities developing primary, secondary packaging components for liquid dosage forms. The role involves technical support for packaging component issues investigations related to SCMP and NPD products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain test methods and SOPs for primary packaging testing
  • Design and execute package-related testing in the lab and conduct proper documentation
  • Coordinate testing in 3rd party labs
  • Perform investigational studies/testing on new products under development and existing commercial products
  • Develop process parameters and physical specifications for new primary packaging components
  • Coordinate with Packaging vendors for technical communications

This role requires a University degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Polymer Science/Material Science/Chemical Engineering or related science. Key skills include knowledge of common packaging materials, computer experience preferably in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), excellent organization and report writing skills, and ability to work independently.

Requirements:
  • Over 3 years of working experience in Packaging or disposable devices in a pharmaceutical research and development environment
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP environment & requirements in a pharmaceutical company
  • Experience working in labs and understanding of relevant guidelines/practices preferred
