Job Summary

The Environmental Aide plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff at Michael Garron Hospital. Under the direction of the Lead Hand and Environmental Services Supervisor, this role involves cleaning and removing waste in patient rooms, isolation rooms, offices, and public hospital areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning non-clinical equipment and using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing floor finishing machines
  • Operating ride-on equipment to ensure high levels of cleanliness
  • Supporting offsite community vaccination clinics

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including continuous walking, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and clean all areas of the hospital
