Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Kids' Stop Children's Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare and education to children aged 0-5 years. This includes developing and implementing child-care programs, leading activities, and promoting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Leading activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Encouraging children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Guiding and assisting children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Discussing progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations
  • Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Child development supervisor (ECE level 3)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
