Millwright Journeyman

Silver Hills is seeking a skilled Millwright Journeyman to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project installations on time and budget, working closely with the project manager to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Provide direction and supervision to contractors working on projects, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Install, align, and maintain stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, including pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks, and tractors, to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
  • Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup of machinery.
  • Inspect new equipment and parts to ensure compliance with purchase orders and company standards.
  • Ensure contractor WCB approvals, plant safety program orientation, and confidentiality statements are completed.
  • Work with the maintenance and production team to ensure SOPs and training materials are provided at the time of sign-off on project work.
  • Enforce company policies and Standard Operating Procedures, promoting and facilitating safe work practices and policies.
