About the Opportunity

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Lawyer with at least 5 years of civil litigation experience to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of litigation files from start to finish, overseeing and guiding junior colleagues as needed.
  2. Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other essential legal documents.
  3. Represent clients effectively in court, handling discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trials with poise and confidence.
  4. Provide timely and strategic legal advice to clients, ensuring their best interests are represented.
  5. Develop and nurture strong client relationships through regular communication and updates.
  6. Collaborate with senior lawyers and team members on complex cases, contributing to strategic planning and business development.
  7. Stay informed about legal developments and changes in relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury or insurance defense.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Proven experience with client management, discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trials.
  • Superior communication and English writing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 per annum.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including company events, dental care, disability insurance, extended health care, life insurance, on-site parking, paid time off, and vision care.

Schedule and Location:

  • Full-time position with an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday.
  • Work location: In person.

Experience and Licenses:

  • At least 5 years of experience in injury law required.
  • Certificate of Standing with the Law Society of Ontario required.
