Job Description

The Laboratory Microbiologist, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance will perform GMP compliant microbiological testing to support in-process manufacturing, raw material or product release, stability studies, and environmental monitoring. The incumbent will also perform testing required to support assay and process validations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory procedures including analyzing and reviewing data.
  • Receive and test samples.
  • Prepare, test, and release materials used for QC testing (e.g., media, standards).
  • Document laboratory work consistent with GxP requirements.
  • Maintain laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.
  • Initiate investigation reports attaching required documentation.
  • Adhere to all effective STM's/SOPs and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and Autoclave supplies and garbage.

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • University degree or technical diploma in microbiology, biology, or related field of study.
  • 0-2 years experience in a pharmaceutical cGMP environment.
  • Basics knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical GLPs and GMPs.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety precautions.
  • WHMIS and biohazard safety awareness.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
  • Able to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Competent in laboratory safety and generally accepted lab practice, including maintaining adequate written laboratory records.
  • Able to communicate and articulate information in both written and verbal forms.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; can work collaboratively with others.
  • Able to interpret analytical data.
  • Medical assessment required upon hire.
  • Able to work shifts based on business needs.

Salary and Benefits
