Salary

The estimated annual salary for this role is $43,388 - $52,828 based on a 0.60 FTE position with an hourly rate ranging from $20.69 to $25.66.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Specialist to join our Production team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the production of blood components that provide life-saving treatments for Canadians.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving, assessing, and producing whole blood, apheresis platelets, and plasma into requested blood components.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation on records related to Production in compliance with operational procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensuring working areas are maintained in an orderly and safe manner.
  • Performing routine maintenance of equipment and work areas to ensure safety and quality of blood products.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Completion of secondary education and minimum 2 years laboratory work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A post-secondary background in science is preferred.
  • Technical skills including MS Office, and the ability to learn systems and programs as required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely, prepare and maintain accurate records, and carry out repetitive tasks.
  • Experience in food processing, pharmaceutical, or biologics manufacturing is a strong asset.

What You Can Expect

This role requires flexibility to accommodate assigned shifts, which may include days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shifts can start as early as 0600 and may end as late as 2100. Physical requirements include the ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs).
