Job Title: Occupational Therapist Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Maternal and Child Program in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As an Occupational Therapist in this role, you will work collaboratively with the care team to provide evaluation and treatment of neonates, infants, and children who exhibit sensory and motor difficulties affecting development of age-appropriate feeding skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing feeding assessments in the premature neonatal population and working with the care team and parents in the creation of a feeding plan.
  • Working collaboratively with a Registered Dietician to assess and treat babies and children with feeding difficulties and support families in creating and implementing home-based programming and recommendations for discharge.
  • Providing inpatient support to the NICU and Paediatric Program to address feeding issues related to prematurity and medical disorders.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) as well as membership in either CAOT or OSOT.
  • Experience in supporting feeding challenges in premature infants in the NICU.
  • Minimum 2 years working in an outpatient feeding clinic (or equivalent) environment.
