Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient and family-centered care, collaborating with physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to our vulnerable patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, education, and support to patients and families in the NICU
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification (must obtain within 3 months of employment)
  • STABLE certificate (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Perinatal Intensive Care Course preferred
  • Recognized breast feeding course
  • 1-year experience of neonatal nursing in a community setting
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
