About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Director, Financial Risk Management Professional to join our Group Risk Management team at Royal Bank of Canada. In this critical role, you will be responsible for evaluating commercial loan requests by reviewing applicants' credit histories and analyzing financial statements to approve or deny loan applications.

You will also manage activities through senior managers and implement corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of risk management principles and experience in commercial account management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate commercial loan requests by reviewing credit histories and analyzing financial statements
  • Manage activities through senior managers and implement corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as OSFI and Basel standards
  • Analyze financial data to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in risk management or commercial account management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
